Generator issue

Your starter might have seized up . Climb under and rap it with a hammer. On mine it's not to herd to reach on my mh.
I replaced mine about $250 if I remember.
There is a solenoid behind the start switchplate but be carefull the circuit board is attached to the back of it. But you should here the solenoid click (at least) when you push start button.
 
Reading all the posts I agree to go back to the batteries. It seems that your genny worked ok before you had the batts serviced. Me, I'd get two new batteries and make sure the installer checks all the connections, including the corroded-looking connection on your genny.
