Hi All, We are David and Judy from Minnesota. We are getting ready to do some full-timing. We have an Allegro 35' motorhome. Have done some overnighting/short trips to west coast. Now we have questions. What personal paperwork/records should we carry with us? What have you found useful or necessary to have on hand? We will be starting our adventures by staying in Olympia area of Washington while daughter is deployed to Baghdad. That will be our base anyway. Hope to see you on the road. Judy

Hi Judy,
We're part timers, so our documentation needs might be different from yours. We normally carry vehicle registrations and proof of insurance, medical insurance/history and, depending on where we're going &/or distance of the trip, we might also carry our passports. (If there's a possibility we might cross into Mexico or Canada, I'd hate to not have our passports on board).

Well I'm not a full timer but would suggest you consider:
Medical records / information especially if you have significant medial issues
Medical records and vaccination records for any pets (May be very important)

We're not fulltimers, but we do take trips of several months. Most of us do our bill paying electronically. One of the above messages mentioned medical paperwork. It's important to have your medical history written down so that your spouse can answer questions if you're not able to do so. None of us wants to have an emergency, but they do happen and when you're on the road, you need to be prepared for having something happen in a strange place. Also, it may sound morbid, but make sure you have a living will and your "other" will up to date and copies in your RV. Some of us in the forum have had to go to emergency rooms in strange cities, and it's a good idea to have everything medical in writing. History, prescriptions, allergies, names and phone numbers of doctors, etc.
