I know there are not many CW ops here, other than myself, but . . .
One of my CW buddies, who was the first ham I met on my RV trip to the Everglades, when I stopped in Kingman, AZ. I used to chat with him a lot on CW. I met him and Sue (his wife) at his QTH, the location shown on his QRZ.COM page. He seemed to be in good health at the time, but I do mean "seemed". He knew he had incurable cancer at that time.
He showed me his drone and how he took that photo on his QRZ page, and then we flew it around his lot. It was fun to fly and learn about. We had a good fun time together in person as well as on the air.
I have not heard from him for a while, so I sent him an e-mail. No reply. So I just now check his page again on QRZ.com to find out he is now a "silent key". He died just a few days ago.
Very depressing to me, to see that.
