They work together, and tend not to fight each other. No you don't want to put the DC-DC charger in with the main wire going to the battery. You need to find the charge wire from the 7 blade towing connector and intercept it.
OK...so follow the cable back from the trailer end of the 7-pin until I get to a place where I can tap into the charge wire, detour that wire through the dc-dc charger and reconnect? They work together, and tend not to fight each other. How much current and what voltage are you swithingFinally getting back to this. I want to put a switch between the panels and the solar controller. So the battery can be stored with a partial SOC with a flip of the switch. I see a bunch of single pole switches but would prefer double pole so the panel is completely isolated. Do they make such a thing or do need to get 2 singles?
I changed my search to include "solar" and found this one. Now trying to figure out all battery choice. Guy on YouTube has quite a few videos on testing them. WattCycle seems like a decent one without getting stupid expensiveHow much current and what voltage are you swithing
THe short answer is YES they make such a thing.. Lots of them
For example this one is 20 amp (They make bigger) not sure of voltage
This one handles 30 amps and can make/break 220 volts
