New to the Forum.  I have 1 year old Toyo's on my 36 foot Class A.  I need to replace the four rear tires.  The Toyo's are in low supply and thus the price has jumped $150 per tire, costing 2,500 out the door.  I can get all four Good Years for $1750 out the door.  My question, should I put the Good Years on even though they don't match the front brand and are they a good RV tire?  Also, the Good Years are 75 instead of 80 wide.
The tire size is 295/80R22.5

What year, make, and model is your MH? Which Good Year tire model are you considering?

If possible, you'll want to stick with the same size tire, but a brand switch, in and of itself, is no big deal. But as Trip asked, which GoodYear tire, as they're not all equal. Certainly GoodYear makes excellent RV tires, but that doesn't mean that all of their tires are suitable. As an example, a google search for GoodYear 295/80R22.5 turned up this link: https://rvtires.com/shop/goodyear-g670-rv-mrt-29580r22-5/?v=7516fd43adaa  among others, so you're not stuck with a "75 wide" with GoodYear.

And, as Don asked, why replace year old tires? Damage, perhaps?

If you review what he mentioned up top, you will see he is only intending to replace the 4 back tires, not the 1 year old Toyo fronts.

I think darsben is assuming all 6 are one year old, the op didn't say if that is the case. If the rears are that new I have to wonder the same thing. I ran Toyos on a fleet of light trucks, the only tires that stood up reasonably well to the abuse those clowns dished out.

???? I assumed nothing

The OP said "I have 1 year old Toyo's on my 36 foot Class A.  I need to replace the four rear tire" so I'm also thinking that the 4 in the rears are Toyo's.

The tire size is 295/80R22.5

nevermind

The big factor here is that 295/75R22.5 is NOT an fully equivalent tire to a 295/80R22.5.  It has less weight-carrying capacity and a smaller diameter.  That accounts for some of the price difference as well. You also did not mention the Goodyear or Toyo tire model. Both make different tire models for differing uses and the price for one model is often different than another. The Goodyear G670 "RV" tire is a lot more expensive than a Goodyear Marathon RTD or Fuel Max, for example.  Goodyear makes the exact 295/80 size but only in the pricey G670 model. That sells for around $695/tire and is not often discunted very much.

You may be able to use the 295/75R22.5 size, but some detailed weight by axle or wheel position will be required to verify that. Changing tire size should never be done without careful investigation of the effects.
Another tire size option for the rear is the 10R22.5 size.  It's very close to the 295/80 in size but also with slightly less load capacity. That's usually fine for a rear axle. For the front, the 11R22.5 is usually a better alternative. These are very popular tire sizes in the trucking industry and priced much lower than the motorhome-specific 295/80.  Again, measure carefully before buying.

In addition to the Toyo and GY G670, you can get the 295/80R22.5 size from Bridgestone/Firestone, Michelin, Hankook, Yokohama, Kumho and other brands. Shop around.
