Goodyear to recall 173,000 tires after pressure from U.S. regulators

Goodyear said on Tuesday it would recall 173,000 G159 tires used on recreational vehicles because of the potential of catastrophic tread separations and after U.S. auto safety regulators formally asked the manufacturer to replace them.

Not sure this is a problem for anyone today.

I think the main issue was Goodyear's failure to address the issue earlier, when a pile-up of lawsuits against them hit them hard, but they were not upfront about a potential known defect with those tires.
