I've had several offers over the years from Ford to update the maps (new DVD) for the built-in GPS in my 2007 F-150 -- $150 each, until the last one which was $200. No dice...
The built-in Kenwood (7" screen) in my Beaver is nice to get a general overall picture of the area I'm in (situational awareness is great), but I've not checked into map updates, and in any case it's awkward to use. So I use my Garmin dezl560 with its lifetime maps -- the two together are really nice.
