I may have to get an external GPS antenna due to my large cab overhang possibly blocking the dashboard unit's reception.

For those of your with cab-over RV's, what location has worked best for your remote antenna location?? The top of the RV is the obvious location I suppose, but I don't look forward to routing the cable to the dash.? I'm wondering if there's a cab location on the front that would work for occasional use.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I rented a Winnebago 30' Class C in May and drove it from Iowa to Anchorage.  I attached the antenna using the suction cup that came with it (MS Streets and Trips 2006) to the dinnete window and had absolutely no problems with reception.

I lucked out.  The unit works fine right on the dash, even with the front overhang.  ;D
