Greetings from the Mountains of Arizona. Yes we do have mountains and pine trees.

I retired in 2004 for the second time. The wife retired last year but is working part time. We're looking at starting a life on the road. We've not decided if we should keep our home in the mountains or sell it. Just the brief time I've been on the forum I think it is going to be a great source of information. And so far, it seems to be different than some of the other forums I'm on. No fighting, bickering, etc. Hope I find that I'm right. I just want good information, not arguments.

We've not purchased a motor home as of yet but hope to do so very soon. I'm now searching different forums, websites, dealers, etc. to get as well prepared as I can when I go further into my search. We've attended several shows in the Phoenix area. Now since the temps down there are getting bearable we plan on hitting some of the dealers and pre-owned sales. Since we have not yet gotten into the RV scene we're thinking of a pre-owned to start with.

So, here we go. Hope we have a great journey with all the folks on the forum.

Thanks ahead of time for y'alls help.
Bill and Jackie

Hi and welcome to the forum. I got a kick out of your message signed Bill and Jackie. I have a brother named Bill and a sister named Jackie. Starting out used is definitely the best way to go. And I would suggest not to spend a whole lot of money on your first motorhome. Virtually no one gets it right the first time and after a year most people are ready to upgrade. If you start off with an inexpensive RV first then you won't lose so much money to depreciation when you go to trade it in. And RV depreciate like a rock. They are not an investment.

I would also suggest renting an RV for a week end or two before buying to help you get a handle on what it is you really want.

Welcome to this forum.

As you know, AZ has lots of mountains. I live in Overgaard(6600feet elevation), 150 miles NE of Phoenix.

Hope you find the perfect used RV for your travels.

Tom,
Thanks for the information. I've found that resale for RV's are terrible. This is why we're still pondering selling the home place.

Our home is located in Strawberry. I'm well aware of the Overgaard area. We looked in that area for a home prior to buying in Strawberry. 73 to you.

I felt that I would be able to get good information on the forum.
