My name is Dave and I just registered on this site, it has already been very helpful. My wife and I have just invested in a travel trailer, a 2019 forest river cherokee wolf pup, and will be taking delivery on Monday. Because we have terrible timing we will then be driving from Indiana to Washington state over the next two weeks, so we are looking forwards to many cold weather adventures. I look forwards to learning a lot off of all of you on here.

What kind of truck or car are you pulling your new trailer with?

I would highly recommend when you get it home, live in it for a couple of days to make sure everything works and to get the bugs out. Hopefully, anything serious you'll be able to get it back to the dealer. Knowing that Quality Control from a factory is non-existant so you will have issues but hopefully not anything major.

Take a pencil and pad of paper with you when parked in your driveway and have 2 columns. One is for "'Things you have to have and the other are "Things which would be nice to have". Only pack the things you have to have otherwise you will overload the trailer.  If you need something while traveling, there are Walmarts all over.

Arch, we are going to be taking I80 for most of the way, then 84 from Idaho to Washington. We'll be pulling with a crew cab 08 Silverado 5.3
Rene, thanks for the tips and we definitely plan on doing some lists on needs vs wants. We plan on living in it on the way back, so hopefully we'll have any bugs worked out by the time we get home. That being said we won't be using any of the plumbing so we'll still have to get that figured out.
