If you read my last post in
you can probably guess. Hang up keys and find something else to do. I really hate to sell but rather unload then watch it rot into the ground.

We agree that with the symptoms of stroke's it is time to face the music. And the announcement from doctors that I likely had ATI's. My wife won't learn how to drive the barge and she shouldn't have to. This summer was rotten was planning to go to Silverwood: Park Info with the grandkids and maybe the oldest girl friend but had to cancel, then had a short trip planned with the younger ones but decided to drop that, too.

With all the new excitement we are in agreement to sell even this is wrong time of year, hopefully we can trap another North westerner doesn't mind some damp camping.

The only place that I am aware for selling is RV Trader and Craigslist, any others? I don't do Facebook. I think we are smart enough to avoid scams but advice welcome. Every thing will be ran through the lending bank. And I'll likely be in touch with them soon

One thought is to sell as a 'turn-key operation'. Just take personal belongings out clean and sell with bedding, blankets, tools, as most things are duplicates of things at home. Thoughts?

Tough decision and a bumpy road but you've brought us and our good thoughts with you - glad you and DW agreed and I hope you can sell easily without regrets but with many memories.

Yeah I should have mentioned I was aware of that.

There is a company called PopSells and they will list your RV and attempt to sell it for a commission (which they add onto your price. We used them once but wound up selling it on our own first (which is one of the agreed upon options). Of course, them adding the 10% commission (I believe that's what it was) just jacks up the price, but they advertise your RV nationally at no cost to you. If they don't sell it, you owe nothing.

And as I stated, you can still attempt to sell it yourself and if you do - you owe nothing.

We're in a similar situation. My stroke involved shortcomings have added up, and I'm no longer comfortable driving our motorhome. My wife used to drive sometimes, but her own health issues, including vision problems, have led to her turning in her drivers license. We aren't quite ready to sell yet, since we're still basically living in the coach where everything is more convenient for us. We are thinking of doing the same thing you mentioned though, removing our personal belongings and letting everything else go to the buyer. We may advertise it soon and see what happens, but we won't get serious about it until spring. We can move into our house until our apartment is available. We already have a buyer for the house, but they're not in a hurry to take possession since they'll be using it as a guest house rather than a primary residence.

Best wishes for your future, and I hope all goes well for you!

Best of luck to you and the Mrs.

Perhaps, if the medical issues improve, you could come back to RV'ing in a limited capacity with, like, maybe a Class B, B+ type rig that's easier to operate.

I have a great degree of empathy for you both as we had to face the same issues just about a year ago. We had left full-time life well before that and downsized to a travel trailer, but my wife's condition had reached a point that made it difficult for her in any RV. The result was that first we sold the trailer, then because it didn't really make sense to have two vehicles, my truck was sold also. As much as we miss RV travels, we manage to live a pretty good life without it. Those birthday numbers just keep getting larger, as happened to me just yesterday. But the wise person faces reality and moves on.

Here's wishing you both the best as you move into the new future lifestyle.
