I'm just getting started in this lifestyle I guess you could call it. I'm divorced in my 50's and this forum is a great find.
What did we ever do before the internet? My plan is to start out small with a trailer camper. I haven't decided yet but I might
Buy an older (40's - 50's) aluminum trailer and do a full gut and restore. (Not Airstream) Too pricy. :D. The plan would be to upgrade everything but keep the
visual look of the year it was manufactured. I have noticed that many that I have seen for sale have no titles. Is this a problem? I know for automobiles
it is impossible in Ohio to generate a new title. The car must be scrapped. Anyway I'm looking to contribute to the forum whenever I can.

Hello and welcome to the forum!  Browse around (which you are probably doing), and jump in anywhere.  There are probably some folks in the Trailer and Remodeling RV subforums that can help out with what you mentioned.  :)

Welcome, Dave!

Titles are a quirky thing from state to state, but since I bet Ohio requires some type of trailer registration, that's something you may have to resolve.

Not wanting to appear argumentative, but unless you have done some personal research, that seems a little odd. Restorations of cars and trucks depend on the concept of being able to generate a title in some fashion and I know there are lots of both in Ohio. You have to find "that guy" in the motor vehicle section, but I bet he's there somewhere.

Good luck on your project - I don't know if trailer restorations are as much a sound investment as they are a source of great personal satisfaction and pride! They are like antique airplanes - love to see 'em but don't have the patience to do one. Have fun, and I hope you find what you need here.

Nothing better in Ohio than a good title.  Ohio is one of the toughest states.  Built several Street rods and I sold equipment trailers for a living. Ohio's a pain if you don't have a good title. There's is 88 counties and I swear everyone of them does  something different when it comes titles .
