Hello everyone,

My name is Robert, and I’m excited to be joining this community of RV enthusiasts! I’ve recently transitioned to living full-time in my RV for work up here in North Dakota. With my background spanning various industries like welding, electrical troubleshooting, and overhead door sales, RV living has become the perfect solution for balancing work and a bit of adventure.

Since I’m new to this lifestyle, I’m eager to learn from those of you who have more experience. Whether it’s tips on staying comfortable during those chilly North Dakota nights or advice on making my rig more efficient, I’m all ears.

Looking forward to connecting, sharing stories, and learning how to make the most out of this full-time RV journey!

Best,
Robert

Yes there seems to be a lot of information available on YouTube but am hoping that I can’t have someone help apply some real world experience they’ve found.

Nice to meet you!

Welcome, Robert. Let me be the first to say, you are going to need to have the stamina of an 1850 pioneer woman to stick it out pretty much anywhere in North Dakota in the winter in any kind of RV.

I lived full time in both a MH and a TT for 5 years, and although it did drop into the teens at night sometimes, at least it came back up above freezing during the day so keeping it warm wasn't that much of an issue. However, I didn't have to deal with temps that dropped into the teens, or below zero, then stayed there for weeks at a time.

Welcome to the Forum Robert. I really want to encourage you to join our weekly Wednesday "Virtual Fireside Chat". There are always a few experienced RVers around the virtual campfire. The neat thing is that this a "real time" discussion. We love newcomers and are happy to discuss your situation, offer advice and resources. Depending on the discussions we are usually online for about an hour. My DH (Dear Husband} and I have been members for over 10 years. We're from MN. Other regulars are Matt from Michigan, and Ed from Nova Scotia and I can't forget Pam who is an all around bundle of RV knowledge. Other experts stop by from time to time.

Here's the link and the schedule for the Wednesday chats.

Welcome to the Forum Robert.

If you search the forum there has been some recent discussions on trying to live in an RV in cold weather states during the winter months. You do have quite the challenge in front of you as most RV's are made for 3 seasons at best.
