Hello everyone.this is my first post!
my girlfriend and I are buying a Trek 2001 with low miles in really nice shape. we are getting it inspected before we buy it. any other things to look for before making the purchase? so stoked to be getting a Trek for my girlfriend and I. We love camping and traveling. btw it is a trek 2001 with 80k and in super nice shape. it has a 5.2 l in it. I'm new to rvs so any help would be amazing.

The first thing I can tell you is that no matter how good the tires look crawl under and look at the DOT date code More than 5-6 years old they need replacing.
No matter how much tread, how shiny they are or how nice THEY NEED REPLACING.
RV tires age out rather than wear out. A blowout at highway speed can cause thousands of dollars of damage.

Climb on the roof and look to make sure it has no holes, patches or gouges.

There are a zillion possible things to check and I doubt if anybody has the time to do it all (or the money to have it professionally done). See the RVForum Library Checklists section for buying help.

Tires and batteries are probably two key items and not hard to check. The pro you hired probably will only do the "house" stuff, and little or no effort to verify chassis function.

Is that Trek a 6.2L diesel?  I don't think there is a 5.2L engine for it.

It begs the question who is inspecting the rig are you buying, the selling dealer inspecting? A friend of seller?

It is a 5.2liter 190 versitale dodge ram. B3500

Questions on Storaging and tires. The date on the tires is 2017 but they have warp like waves on the walls. They are brand new with little spike tread on them. That goes away once driven a bit.
. When storing these vehicles do we need to do anything special to them? I know to run the generator once a month. We have it at a storage spot and we have a cover coming for it. Do we need to cover the tires? Do we need to do anything Else. I live in caifornia so it gets desert heat. Anything we can do to protect it from the the desert heat . I want to keep it in tip top shape. Any thoughts would be amazing.?

you need to protect from the sun more than the heat. On the other hand you do not want to completely enclose the tire.  Tire cover are one option.
