Good morning folks, my name is Brad, live in Topeka KS. Inherented a 1996 coachmen Catalina. Not too bad of a set up. Have a few Lil issues, but getting them worked through, awning and arms were garbage as normal. K12 volt issues for inside the home for
Ights is the other. Next will check water system and flush completely
Thanks for letting me on to your platform

Hi and welcome. Let us know if you need any help with your issues. Good luck.

You should sanitize your water system instead of just flushing it. Empty as much water that you including the tank and the water heater. Then add 1/4 cup of bleach for every 15 gallons of water. Put it in your fresh water tank. Then fill the tank. Then using your onboard water pump, pump that water solution through all your faucets until you smell the bleach and fill the water heater the same time. Then let it sit for a few hours then drain and flush everything.
Also, check the manufactures date on all the tires. Any tires 7/8 years old, they should be changed

Correct me if I am wrong, but the water heater should never have bleach introduced into it; at least according to my owners manual. Can corrode the metal liner.

The bleach you are using is really diluted. Everyone does it and I’ve never heard of anyone having issues.

I have a question when emptying the water tank itself.
Once the solution has set and you drain, does that have to go into a dump station?
Or is that small amount of bleach a non-issue?
In my case, I drain my leftover fresh water in my driveway. Helps water some of my grass at times lol.
But in this case, would it be enough bleach to stain the driveway and kill some vegetation?

Welcome Brad.
In the early sixties, I sat under an overpass by Kansas turnpike toll gate in Topeka while a tornado destroyed part of the city.
I’ll never forget Topeka.

Welcome to the site from another Kansas person. Hope you get all the problems worked out on the rv. If you have questions this is a great group to ask.
