Hello all. I'm Mike from Lorena, TX. I'll be retiring in about 6 months and moving to Alabama to be closer to family. The wife and I have decided to buy a 5th wheel toy hauler so we can get out and about. I've been traveling around the country on my motorcycle for years without her. Her choice, not mine. Now, with the 5th wheel, she can join me. I'll be checking in here for advice about our upcoming purchases. I've got to buy a truck also.

I'm looking for a used (2016 or newer) 1 ton dually. I like the Ram 3500, but I'm not locked in to a specific brand. The toy hauler we want will be large enough to be comfortable in for a few weeks at a time, but not so big that I have trouble getting into smaller campgrounds. I plan to take it to some of the bike rallies I go to. Some of those locations are not set up for RV's to begin with and I might be boon-docking while there. Finding the floor plan that the wife likes will be the key I think.

Welcome from across the way a bit.  Pick out your camper first, then you'll know for sure if you have enough truck.  Shouldn't be a problem with what you are looking for, but you never can be sure when trailer hunting.

Thanks, but I won't buy anything too big for a 1 ton. I can't afford it.  ;D
