My class A normally got around 7-8 but if fresh wash and wax could nit 10-11 depending on how good a job I did.

one day it hit 13.8.. of course the 100 MPH dead astern tail wind might have helped a bit by ..er.. Pushing.

You'd gain somewhere in the neighborhood of a 25% less consumption of energy due to the reduction in drag in closely drafting another vehicle. You'd have to wash a lot of drag off a vehicle to realize any 25-30% gain in mpg. More likely 1 or 2%.

I can only report what the computer told me.
I've seen results like that with a car too but it requires you use first quality (Simonize level or better) wax I did the Motor home and towed both 2x a year 11MPG was right after wash & wax .E/B I-69 At that time (No towed 9-10 was normal for that trip.. I think direction and road may have helped.

But on both car (77 AMC hornet Hatchback)and Motor home I was rather surprised at the MPG increase of a good hand wax.
