Hello, hopefully someone has solved this same problem and can advise me:

In the attached photo I show my TV screen which has a small sound bar installed underneath.  This sound bar is part of a multiple-speaker surround sound system ? one where a prior owner removed the controller which renders the surround sound useless to us unless we purchase another controller unit.

I am considering installing an ?all in one? sound bar in its place ? under the cabinet below the TV.  I see several units under 24 inches and some 15 inches.  I frankly prefer a simple sound bar compared to a big surround sound system.  However, when I search for products on Amazon I am not seeing units that are designed to be mounted under a cabinet.  Are there some models designed to install under a cabinet?  If not is there an easy way to install a sound bar under the cabinet with some kind of fastener?

The TV we watch is exclusively DISH (we have the Tailgate package).

Thanks in advance.

Grooving Grandpa and I installed one in his coach.  Took a little creative adapting but it worked out fine.  Maybe he’ll see this and post a picture.

I recently installed one in my motorhome. They're designed to be wall-mounted, so simple L brackets should work just fine to mount it below the TV.

All - thank you for your help.
Isaac - this is the product I am thinking of.  Is is 15" long.  I will be looking for L brackets to mount this under the TV cabinet.

I bought this one at Walmart and installed it under the front cabinets with industrial strength Velcro. I use it to amplify my Amazon Echo Dot. Been riding there for about 6 months now.

I would be worried that the 2x5 watts (10 watts total) would not carry the sound any better than the TV.

Of course I have no clue about your RV or it's setup.

I suspect that the "sound bar" mounted under the TV in the picture is not a sound bar, but is the center speaker which is part of the multiple surround sound speaker system. If the speakers in the surround sound system are in working order, and include a subwoofer, then I would advise that a "controller" be installed to complete the system. I have no idea why one would prefer a sound bar to a surround sound system, except for the ease of installation and no requirement to install speakers and run wiring to the speakers. The DISH website has a good article explaining a sound bar vs surround system. I also suspect the missing "controller" was a surround sound amplifier. If so, they are available for around the same cost as a small sound bar.

Thank you!  You are correct in that the existing speaker is part of a surround sound system.  I just looked at current Samsung models and see the component I am missing - the receiver/amplifier.  All of the wiring is still in the cabinet.  I am changing direction and am now looking for this missing component.  I really appreciate the help.

I think your making the best choice. I have nothing against soundbars but they have limits.
Hopefully you will be able to match the amplifier to the speakers. (Number of speaker and correct wattage)
Nothing makes a movie better than to be immersed in the sound.
