Looking for best 5th Wheel RV route Nashville, TN to Columbia, SC. I know part of I40 is closed and want to avoid the area that the people are dealing with the disaster. Ideas?? Google directions gives one option of through Atlanta, what would be the route around there?

Thanks,
Shelia

About your only choice is to take I-81 out of Knoxville to I-77 in Wytheville and down to Charlotte and then Cola. I-26 does have an open lane across the mountain but I know they aren't allowing trucks just not sure about 5ers. My wife has been through there a couple of times to her home in Jonesville, Va. Be aware when you go 81 and 77 that the truck traffic is terrible. Fuel up before you hit that area as all of the truck stops are like parking lots. At least that was our experience a few weeks ago.
