Hello everyone. I recently purchased a 1984 Kingston Midas mini motor home. Trying to register this the DMV needs the dry weight or shipping weight NOT the GVWR which i supplied. The tag on the inside of the cabinet has been removed. I cant seem to find anywhere where it shows this information. I dont have the owners manual. They need to have it on paper and its the only info i need to register.

Its a 1984 Kingston Midas 24' rear bathroom. GVWR is 11,100 lbs

If anyone can help me i would very much appreciate it. Thank you.

Welcome to The RV Forum!

Take it to a scale and weigh it before you put all of your stuff into it, then take the receipt to the DMV.

Google "public scales" or look in the yellow pages to find one near you.

if its not registered. i dont want to drive it illegally to a weigh scale. I looked at NADA guides and it shows very little info. Mostly just what its worth.

It's probably on a Ford or Chevy van chassis, e.g. Ford Econoline E350 (1-ton) van. Maybe they would accept the van curb (dry) weight for registration purposes.

This site purports to be able to give that and other info from the model & VIN. I have no knowledge of whether it works or not.

Yes its on a Chevy Van 3500 Cut away. Does anyone know about what this would weigh? Or if anyone on here has one just like it and can send me some info? Ive been searching for the past 3 days with no luck.

DMV should be able to give you a 1 - 30 day temporary permit (depending on the state) so you can drive the vehicle to a scale, mechanic, etc. to do what's needed to finalize the registration.
