Higher $2.50 registration fee for trailer under 2,000 pounds

I own and pay license registration fees for four trailers; 18' boat trailer, 17.5' TT, 25.25' TT, and an approximately 8' utility trailer with a 5'x4'x2' box. Just put the new annual registration stickers on my 1960 homemade utility trailer which is under 2,000 pounds. Got to find the details to find out exactly what I paid on the fees, especially the road and bridge fee.

Why should the County road and bridge fee be $2.50 for vehicles under 2,000 pounds, but $1 lower for vehicles over 2,000 pounds? Are lighter vehicles harder on the roads and bridges?

I would guess a typo error with website. Maybe was missed during a price change. A complaint might get everything to $2.50

County Road and Bridge
$1.50 for all motor vehicles and trailers greater than 2,000 pounds and $2.50 for motorcycles, trailers less than 2,000 pounds, and trailer coaches, pursuant to C.R.S. 42-3-310. This fee is distributed to the County Road and Bridge Fund.

Mesa County is my County and it's the same deal. Pay more for less.

Actually temporarily it's $0.94, not $2.50 for County Road and Bridge fees. If it's documented as weighing more than 2,000 pounds it would be $1.50. This utility trailer has been on the road since 1960 built on a 1941 Chevrolet truck front suspension. Tiny little charges all add to $29.06 annually.

There's a Clerk Hire Fee for $4.00. I'm surprised that there's no Clerk Fire Fee for $4.00. Oh, that's right at the DMV no matter how turtle speed slow the DMV clerk is in processing documentation they won't be fired.

I was astounded last summer when I bought that car hauler. I had to get Cali tags for it and I discovered that a "permanent" trailer tag is only good for 5 years in California. Huh, WTH? In Arkansas, a permanent trailer tag is good (you guessed it) permanently.
