An RVer with a 2015 FR Sabre 34 REQS reported that Honda EU3000IS generators were randomly shutting down while boondocking, even after trying different generators including a new one. Because the trailer had once tripped the converter breaker on shore power, the member suspected the converter, but others noted that a converter overload would usually trigger an overload condition rather than stop the generator engine.
Members suggested checking generator alarms, CO shutoff, exhaust placement, altitude, fuel cap venting, oil level, and isolating the generator by running a separate resistive load such as a space heater. The final update was that the shutdown was caused by oil level: the member saw the oil light come on just before the generator died, added oil, and then ran the generators for two full days to power the AC without interruption.
Bottom line
The issue was resolved as a generator oil-level shutdown, not a confirmed converter problem.
