I recently had a Hopkins brake control installed in my 92 Ford F150. All lights work, but brakes do not activate. I also don't get the indicator on the control itself saying it is connected. Any ideas?

Do you have a 7 pin or a 4 pin connector on the back of the truck?

Either the trailer or the brake controller isn't wired right. Could be as simple as a missing ground wire on the trailer side.

You can use a trailer plug tester to verify the truck side is ok, but there are a couple variants depending on gthe plug in use.

A visual inspection of the trailer side and a VOM to test for ground and brake circuit continuity should find most trailer side problems.

It is a 7 blade. I looked at the wires coming into the plug on the truck, I noticed that there is 1 that is not hooked up to the plug, white wire. Could this be the problem?

I just looked at the Hopkins wiring, and the white wire is Ground.  This absolutely can and is your problem.

Please verify that this is your set-up
