Hot water diverter at sink to save fresh water

Has anyone found a passive water diverter valve/ mixing valve that will allow standing water in the hot water line to circulate back to cold water until ho****er is available?  I dont want to use an electric recirc system like watts.

Not really true.  All it takes is a Tee in the hot line plus a valve and a line that goes back to the fresh tank instead of the heater tank.  Since there is no pressure in the fresh tank, water will flow continuously without a pump as long as the valve is open.  It's not as elegant or convenient as electric pumped recirculation back to the water heater, but it works.  For most people, the problem is installing a return line to the tank.

The one gallon pail is a whole lot simpler, though!

Rvliberty: Why don't you want the pumped system? Electric power use is minimal because the the pump runs so little.
