Hello,
I recently purchased an old trailer camper, a bonair for hunting purpose and been refurbishing it.
Propane over is working great. New propane refrigerator is work good (they removed the original and put an AC one instead). The water heater is working like a charm too.
But I'm having issue with the furnace.
The model is an Hydro Flame FA-7916, the first model with the manual pilot.
The issue is with the pilot flame that would get snuffed out whenever the fan is starting.
I opened the furnace and cleaned up everything. Greased and oiled the fan shaft.
Changed the thermocouple. Cleaned both the burner and pilot tube.
Cleaned the pilot bore hole.
Changed the gaskets.
The startup instruction mention starting the blower before igniting the pilot. It never work.
I have to start to blower, to input some fresh air, then turn it off.
Then I'm able to lit the pilot, and the pilot stay lit.
Then after switching the valve to ON, and setting the thermostat, the furnace and the would start.
At this point, I can turn it on/off/on/off from the thermostat without a problem.
But if I let it cold down, I can see the pilot still burning, but the next time the blower will turn on, it will snuff out the pilot.
If I try to ignite the pilot manually again once the fan has stopped, the pilot will lit and stay lit.
I know it's not an electrical issue. The fan is blowing, the main valve will opens if the pilot is burning. And all the relay, sail switch and thermal switch are responding.
Has anyone have any idea what could be the issue?
Too much air?
Valve defective not supplying enough gas?
