Good Morning future forum friends.  My husband and I just bought a 93 Sandpiper and are getting it fixed up.  This is our first trailer so we have a lot to learn.  We have a boot camp graduation to attend in OK at the end of October along with a wedding in WY so we will be on the road for two weeks...with our two little boys who are 3 and 1.  It should be a lot of fun.  We are very excited, but we want to be ready!  This forum has already helped so much and I am so grateful for it. :)

Welcome.... from one newbee to another!!

Just before everyone else says it.... check your Towing stats for safety... sounds like you have precious cargo you are hauling!! <3

Enjoy your camper!! I know I am!

How old are the tires?

You don't want a blowout in the middle of nowhere, trust me I've been there done that.

Also how old is the fire extinguisher?  $20 will get you a new one.

;D BOONICOLE Welcome ! I'm new too ..so new that I don't have my RV yet on the look  8).
Wow how excite ..lot going on..You will have a ball for sure  . Keep us all post on all your adventures

I like the suggestion to check the age of the tires and get a new fire extinguisher...

Tires on RV's generally Age out instead of Wear out. 7 years is considered "OLD

Fire Extinguishers.. I ran into someone (Well met with) at an FMCA rally.. Mac the Fire Guy

Google him.. He sells very good fire extinguishers. They are a chemical FOAM not the dry powder that came with the RV. Fit in a bicycle drink bottle holder rather well. but do an amazing job on fires of all sizes..

I've seen several fire-demos as part of my education and work training on assorted jobs.  The result since I pay attention and learn (These are put on by profrssional fire fighters)  is that I believe Mac knows what he's talking about.. SO I won't even attempt to give you advice beyond Google him in that respect.  I carry several Extinguishers. One in bedroom One at my feet. The one the factory installed. one in my car.. You get the picture.

And a 1/5 Gallon garden sprayer full of water with pressure (Campfire extinguisher)

Hey everyone! We did purchase a new fire extinguisher the day we purchased it and new tires had been put on by the previous owner less than a year ago.
So far all we have had to do is clean it, replace the water heater element and repair some screens. There is so much information on this forum...I?ve been looking at the resources a lot....but everyone?s suggestions and thoughts are so helpful! So thank you!
