I'm actually very good at picking winners but my accountant's mentality says not to put money down where the odds are you're going to give those $$$ away. I would be a great casino accountant....they always win.

I have pretty much struck out on the Triple Crown.  SweetNorthernSaint for the first two (best he did was second at the Preakness) and my 4th placer at the Belmont.

Such a short memory. ;D ;D  Wasn't it Wendy and Mike that won the pick while we were at Moab?  They had to do it the hard way by picking the right site long before the that race. ;D ;D

Sure I will take you on Shayne! Two fourth places and one second in triple crown races that have had fields as large as 20 is not too shabby IMO.  ;D

Wendy -  there is a lot more ways to bet in horse racing than win, place, and show.  4th place can earn a lot of money if it is part of what they call the exotic bet structure.

That said, I admit I could not pick a first place in the Triple Crown, if that is what Ron is trying to tell me.  ;D

Yes.... I had Sweetnorthernsaint across the board at the Preakness when we were in Maryland.
