I could not give up having an RV

Am I allowed to chuckle? I wondered how long your state of RV-less-ness would last. Seriously, it looks nice and I know you'll both enjoy being able to take off for a change of scenery.

Actually what caused me to wait this long was because Renae had bought a TT for Kelly to satisfy Kelly's desire to be independent. So the driveway was not available. Now since we got Kelly an apartment and sold the TT, we have enough room to park one.

I miss my old RV garage. I have a boat garage, long but not tall enough.

Ed, It is about 3 years old.

Congratulations, Bill! It looks great. Be careful with that driveway slope, you don't want to run the refrigerator that far off level. In fact, I'd wait until you're on the road before firing it up, just to make sure the boiler has time to fill before you turn on the heat.

Thanks Lou. I have some heavy duty ramps for the front tires and will use a level to make sure that the refer is not out of level. At least it is not 40 feet long.

Renae surprised me by how excited she is for some short Summer trips to places like Williams to cool down. My normal solution is to stay home in the A/C. She has cabin fever because of this pandemic.

There's plenty of room in Quartzsite, both on BLM land and in the RV parks if you want to take a shakedown cruise. Gamblers and K&B Tools are still open and since Herb's Hardware closed the Big Market has become a well stocked Do It Best hardware store if you need parts. Still says Big Market on the outside but the only remnants of the market are the beer cooler and checkout stands.

Good suggestion, It will be delivered by the seller probably by next weekend.

Renae's son and grandson are coming here from Minnesota on March 2.

Just curious, Bill - How big is your garage? It looks pretty roomy. I am planning to build a garage and am second guessing myself a lot on size.

Bill, I see it already has a receiver on the back so are you planning on pulling a tri axle stacker for the race car, golf cart and all your tools you had in the other stacker?

I am not planning on towing anything. It can tow up to 8,000 pounds but Renae always drives her Jeep Commander separately. She was in an accident years ago and always likes to be the driver because of that.

Even when we had the Stacker, she would drive behind the rig.

We would carry my Jeep Commander, the Mustang, and the golf cart in the stacker and she would follow.

We were like a traveling used car lot. Trips will be simpler with this smaller rig.

Ex-Calif,

My old RV Garage was 20 feet wide, 45 feet deep, and 14 feet high. That works well for a 40 foot DP. A 45 foot DP needs a little more depth.

I would have liked to have had a pull thru with double entrance and exit doors at 90 feet long when I had a 77 foot rig with the Trailer Toad and Stacker hooked up.

The new one is only a three spaces wide with the left space about 30 feet long for a boat.

Her are pictures of the old one.

So raise the garage roof. Shouldn't take much, a bunch of 2x4 extensions, some drywall and stucco, a sawzall and a few jacks. Hold my beer ...

Wasn't a church, but my sister's house in North Fork, CA. I'm headed there in a couple of weeks to build a wheelchair ramp. It's a long story but my mom refuses to go into assisted living so my sister has decided to move into her rental house as soon as she can get the tenant out and let Mom continue to live in her house. Either solo with other family on the property or with a caretaker if needed.

Still confused. Does that make the new one 36W X 30D?

I am planning a workshop not an RV storage so I am think like 2 1/2 cars and deep enough for benches at the back. Like 24W X 20D

I just measured it. It is 28 feet wide. 32 feet deep on the boat garage side and 6 feet less on the car side or 26 feet deep on the right.

If you want to have a workbench at the back then you want at least 28 feet deep and 28 feet wide. I ended up with a freezer and refer in the back. Those things just kind of sneak in.

My workshop area is on the left wall and everything is on rollers.

Here are some better pictures of different angles.

Lou,

Here is your project. Except now the grandkid's play house is in the way.

I built a 24x36 shop intended solely for storage of and working on my motorcycles. It was too small almost immediately after completion. I think that's a law of nature or something.

Thanks for sharing. My kid just measured my current garage (I'm remote) and it's 24W X 23 deep internally.

It's basically a 2 car garage with a front entry person door. I have 2 1/2 wide to 3 foot wide benches. It's workable as a shop but your info gives me some good ideas to make something in between maybe.

@Wally - It's always too small - LOL...

WOW Bill. I've been away for a short while. Last I saw you purchased a new home with a nice RV garage for your Country Coach. Now you've moved again and sold the Country Coach and stacker trailer, bought and sold a Class B and just bought a Class C.

Hell must be freezing over.......

Mike
