Identifying an Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Hitch Tool

I believe I found this in the storage area of the travel trailer I bought from my parents. Does anybody know what this is?

Perhaps a tool to tighten the chains on the equalizer bars?

Our Equalizer WDH came with one to lever the spring bars up onto the L brackets, but we use the electric tongue jack to raise the back of the truck up enough to just slide them on, after latching the coupler.

Never have needed to use that tool.

Yes, it's for the Equal-i-zer brand weight distributing hitch. I've had 2 of them. Like JFlightRisk, though, I rarely used it. Easier to raise the tongue to hook up.

I have one for my Equalizer hitch. Never needed to used it. Lifting with the jack is the easiest way and you don't have to worry about it slipping off and hurting yourself.
Thinking about putting it near the door in case of intruders.

That tool is still sitting in my pass through and has never been used by me, the second owner, ever...

As noted above I just raise and lower the tongue to install and remove the load bars.

Fancy tensioner, mine was a 18" long section of 3/4" pipe.
It has a double-use. It works to remove the plastic lid of a 5G pail too. Just snip the thin parts of the retainer rings, then pry off the lid.

I recall on one I had to resort to spring clothespins to prevent reclosing.
