Identifying Replacement Hubs for an Older Sunline Trailer

A freind recently acquired a Sunline trailer with a bearing failure. It is an older unit.
Anyone out there have any idea on how to ID the correct replacement hub?
It’s 5 on 4.5 lug bolt style with 10” X 1.5” brakes. The spindle is shorter than I’m used to seeing.
He is willing to install hubs only, because the brakes have been disconnected for some time. Any useful assistance is greatly appreciated!

Brakes are required by law in most states, over 2,000#. There should be a metal ID tag on the axle somewhere. If no ID can be found, take the drum to an automotive parts store and ask them to sell you a matching one.

I understand about the brake requirements. But I owned a trailer that was rated at 2990 that had no brakes as it came from builder. At some point in time, they weren’t required under 3k in many states and those are grandfathered in.
In any case, it needs to be moved to a different place and will be towed by a very capable truck.
No tag found on axle.
Local Napa dude, after researching it, said it was obsolete, only made them for 4 years or so.

So the drum/hub is so badly damaged you cannot pound some new races in it? and the axle spindle is OK?

Looking in the Dexter Light Duty catalog, the 10x1½ brakes are only found on the D30 (3000 lb) axle and oddly they do not list a plain hub, only the drum and hub.

The bearings are LM67048 inner cone, LM67010 inner cup and LM44610 outer cup and LM44649 outer cone.

Brakes are K23-472-00 (LH) and K23-473-00 (RH)

The drum is a K08-418-91

If the trailer is decent, and you intend on keeping it, you might come out cheaper to have a 3500 lb axle bult to the dimensions as the parts are quite a bit cheaper and more readily available.

The outer bearing and race (cone and cup) is the same as a 3500 lb axle (#84 spindle) and is also known as a Timken SET4 however the inner bearing and race (cone and cup) is smaller than that on a 3500 lb axle and the spindle appears to be shorter. The inner cone/cup is known as a Timken SET6.

The bearing race bores are wiped out.
The spindle is a bit scarred but usable. Step spindle with 1 1/16” X 1 1/4”
I found the axle tag. It’s a Phillip/Dexter 2,800 lb axle. The spindle is shorter then any others I have seen. I called e-trailer and the rep I spoke with said the drum was no longer available. Hub is a Dexter 8-237. Called Dexter, but their customer service was worthless. AI bs, no human that I could get to. looked up the drum # online and on eBay, no luck.
I just ordered a new axle and hubs.
Old axle is 78/62. Found a new one with 78” hub face, with weld on spring mounts.
I might have to list the good hub on the Sunline site or eBay. Might be a help so someone. Faster and cheaper then having a shop replace and axle in BFE!
