Imporant patches to apply ASAP

There is an important update to Flash Player available from Adobe that should be applied immediately as there are known exploits in the wild.  See here and here for more details.

The upcoming patch Tuesday is just as important, especially for those of you that insist on using Internet Explorer, any version.

I did update both Ardra's and my laptop to Adobe Flash Player Ver 11.5.502.149.

Next I'll have to see if I can find that "next Tuesday" update you mentioned.  Please post anything you have about it.

Patch Tuesday is the monthly Windows Updates.  If you are configured to automatically update, then they'll be applied overnight.  If you check manually, do that on Wednesday by running Windows Update.  This one is somewhat special as it has a LOT of fixes, 57 I believe.

When I checked for updates just then it said no updates available. I will watch closely.
I think I did an update about a week ago.

    Ned, I do have a JAVA update that is waiting to be installed.  Since it is disabled, I never ran it, should I now update JAVA?

Windows Update won't show the new critical updates until after next Tuesday.  There can be updates to other MS products in the interim, but the big ones come on the second Tuesday of every month.

Yes, that would be version 7 update 13, but be sure to disable Java in the browsers through the control panel after applying the update.  It should be disabled by default, but check it anyway.  If you don't have any other software that needs Java, then it should be uninstalled.
