Installing Window or Mini-Split A/C in a Stationary Fifth Wheel

Depending on where you are parked, in regards to a campground(park, resort, etc) check with the rules of that establishment. Window units may not be allowed.

What about the smaller, lightweight trailers that come with a window unit, like the

That would be part of an manufactured build, They look quite different. and as to the condensor on the ground, thay can also be mounted. Seen a number of them.

But it is still considered a window unit. I've seen a couple that look just like the ones you buy at Walmart. Sticks out the side.
BTW, I don't see why the campground would not permit one. It's quieter outside than the rooftop one.

Agree. That's the way the factory installs them. You'd think they could find a way to put it on the front or rear.

Our roof top unit died and while waiting for the warranty repair, I basically cut a pliece of plywood to fit the opening of our emergency exit window, with the rounded corners and fitted a 5,000 btu window unit into it. It just sat in the window frame when operating and was easily installed or removed for travel. FWIW our TT is a 20 footer and the small AC unit cooled it very well at 90 plus degree temps.
