We have a '94 Winnebago Brave. The vertical wallboard joints are covered with a heavy adhesive backed tape. This tape is curling on the edges. Presume the adhesive is drying out.

Is there a product that can be used to re-glue the edges of this tape so that it will adhere to the wall again?

Would rather not spend a w/e replacing the tape, there's close to 50-feet of it! Probably couldn't find any more of it anyway. But if that's what should be done what would disolve the adhesive? The tape won't come off easily.

Thanks,

Tom

Tom,

You might try a warm clothes iron. It may re-activate the adhesive or it may loosen it up enough for easy removal. If that fails, a very dilute solution of contact cement (dilute with toluene) applied very carefully with a small brush should take care of the edges. Excess can be removed with toluene also, but you run the risk of removing the printed pattern too. If you use contact cement, make sure you allow plenty of time (several minutes) for the cement to 'dry' before pressing the surfaces together. It's necessary to apply cement to both the tape and the underlying wall; not just one surface.

Karl,

Thanks for the suggestions. Was hoping to try them before replying but - sigh - that hasn't happened. If it ever does, will let you know how it went.

Tom
