High, new to the forum.  Just finished a 10500 mile trip in my 89 Itasca.  Alaska/Canada/ from North Carolina.
I have been challenged through out most of it with a very infuriating ignition problem on the 454 Chev.  I am now Jerry rigged with a push button switch like a 50 Chevrolet.  Any one out there have any similar ignition problems?  I have replaced the starter, have replaced the top ( hot start selonoid) twice.  Even replaced the igniton and key set.  Cannot get it started using the key.  I have to turn the ignition on, then use the button to start the engine.  There has got to be a wire??  Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome, fishd2. Glad to hear you had a successful Alaska tour, despite the recalcitrant starter. We made a similar journey form out Florida home 4 years ago and had a ball.

I think I would run a new "start" wire from the key to the start relay.  Is that where your pushbutton is wired to?
