Update: I found a store that had the non-CO detect Champion 2500 watt generators in stock, so I ordered 2 along with the parallel kit.
Just got back from my first trip in a no-hookups-at-all campground. The generators worked fine (almost).
One would mysteriously just shut off with no error indicator, causing the other to overload if I was running the AC. I'd turn off all loads, go out, shut off gen #2 (if it had not already shut off due to overload), wait a few, and start both back up. Rinse / repeat every few hours.
These gens have an "on-off switch" on the gas cap, which is (I think) just supposed to open an air vent into the gas tank while the gen is running (the "on" position). I thought maybe that was the issue (vent not opening properly???), so I loosened the gas cap a smidge and no further issue.
Any comments appreciated.
