Hello Everyone,

Has anyone driven from John Day Fossil Beds to Joseph, OR? My husband and I would like to do that but I don't know how the road is. Looks like we'd be driving Hwy 84 and then take off at Hwy 82.

82 is good road, one longer grade but it isn't anything to panic about.

Wallowa River RV Park for an decent, low cost to stay. Owner is on-site.

Take the tram up to the top of mountain, lots of trails and the little restaurant has good food, beer and service.

I was just up there last summer. I grew up in LaGrande and was visiting friends and family. Hwy 82 is a good road and doesn't really have any stupendous grades or super narrow passages.

We stayed at Wallowa River RV camp, then at the state park at the lake. You do have to book well ahead of time to get into the park.

Have a great trip!
