Well,  We visited the dealer today, made some arrangements, blew a seal on the brand new (also this morning) radiator in what will be the toad (I go back to the radiator place tomorrow for a replacement... They put it on wrong and cut it, minor pita)

The thing is even nicer than the "Show" models.. You see, we opted for the table and chairs,  Neither my wife nor I are what you would call "Petite" and squeazing in a booth style table of the kind used in RV's is.. For the small of girth.  But with the table/charis option there is room for.. Well, bigger than we are.

Figured out where I think I'm going to park a computer (right behind the passanger) my LINUX box for starters,

The Replay TV will be a bit of a pain  I'll figure out where to put it, but I"m not sure how yet (likely replace the VCR and find a new parking slot for it,  I do have some ideas)  Feed it power and the TV works good,  Figured out most of the switches and such though it's not in a place I'd care to drive it out of when driving for the first time (Will let the pros get it out of the show lot)  Sure was nice seeing it.. Got to order the Remoco axel disconnect for the toad though.

Oh yes, I'm very happy

Soon as I get it to a place where I can do a photo shoot I'll grab the SiPix and start shooting, You will know when that is because my Avatar will change color, and possibly direction

Well,,, I've got a few places I'd like to visit but....

QZ conflicts with other stuff I do at that same time... Less I fly to Detroit and take a cab to the hotel (Cab fair is almost as much as air fair)

Mohab is a posiblity

Any rallies in or near MICHIGAN?

I'll try and be in LUPTON at the ham radio rally July 8/9 (Got to split on 10)

And though this year Dayton (Another ham convention.. RIGHT NOW in fact) is out for obvious reasons

next year I may need to outfit it in gear

But for the first year or two I"m going to have to stay somewhat local... Once the house is gone... The job will be gone, and the MOTOR HOME will be my new home, full time,  then other than one of the last 2 weekends in January I'm free to rally

JOhn:  I could make a Michigan Rally in early August.  We will be at Oshkosh Fly-in the last of July.

Nice going John!

I see I missed some important messages while I was away in Montana.

I envy you while my own delivery keeps getting delayed.  Now mine has been pushed back till after the weekend.  If they wait any longer it will be timne for my eye surgery and the Admiral won't drive it.

Hope we can cross paths soon!

I actually took your checklist (Slightly modified) to the dealer with me

No jackets (not part of package) different trim, Gas engine

But yes, I took the check list with me... Tons of manuals (For example there are 3 slideouts, one large, 2 small, so I have 3 copies of the slide out manual, 2 televisions, 2 manuals, two toilets, two manuals (Different) and more)  There are manuals for things I never thought to read a manual for.

Found all the breakers, fuses, and the like, Mike (the tour guide at the dealer) pointed them out, Really only have one question left about it... I need to find out what it's sided with

Only major complaint is with the salesman... he sold me a workhorse (GM) chassis with an Allision (GM) transmission and a Ford Triton V-10... It came with a Vortex V-8....  Seems to do ok power wise though.  But I think we are going to have to discuss the difference in engines.

I have pictures, but the upload limits on the forum are about 1/3 the size of the picture files, will have to use Thumbs + to shrink them a bit, then I'll upload... May happen later today but I'd count on later this week.... Need to take a few additional pics too

Re: Towed... It's not towable yet, REMCO axel lock is sitting in my living room, Appointment 6/1 to install and do some upgrades on the RV.... I may do an upgrade on the Lumina too

Took it for a shakedown cruse... Only had 2 problems.. 1: Cat came up missing mid trip... Note, cat had not gone anywhere but when we went to dump we pulled in the sides... The cat got under the bed (one of the slides is the bed) and became trapped... Wife was going frantic... I had to attend a meeting so I had to take off... About an hour after I got back cat started to meow.. Wift was sure cat was outside or in one of the "Basement" compartments... My ears said a bit higher.. Brought in the slides, never did see where the cat was hiding, but suddenly the cat was in the front of the rig (As far away from the main bed as he could get)

Other problem is I accidently smashed the oven door on the oven... Will call glass company in about an hour and make arringments to fix that,  Should be minor and I know how to avoid a repeat of that crash

Jerry:

Thanks for the list.? I found a few items on yours to add to mine.

John:

That change in engines sounds like a dramatic change to me.? They actually put a different engine in than the one you ordered?

Very interesting on the cat.? I was wondering about that myself.? Cats can get into amazing places, and I had been worried about operating slideouts if the cat were not in view.? Seems to me not only could they get trapped, but maybe even injured.?

Cats are pretty nimble.? But slideouts can be very dangerous.? I was surprised to find out on my factory tour at Newmar, that my coach was the last one being made that installed the one button press on the slideouts.? Newmar used to brag that their slideouts would open or close with one momentary press of the button.? That way you could walk around to each of the four slideouts, pressing buttons, without having to stand at one slideout holding the button down and waiting for it to open or close.

Turns out this is a dangerous practice, and this past year a Newmar customer was killed by it.? The wife was walking around closing slideouts, and the husband was sticking his head out the window talking to someone.? He was killed before the wife could get the slideout back open.

As a result, Newmar has gone back to the more conventional buttons that must be held down beginning with the 2006 models.? Admiral and I have decided we are going to do careful checks before we open or close slideouts.? Cat included <g>

Actually I would be kind of surprised if Workhorse put a Ford engine in that package. All 3 components; chassis, engine and transmission are GM derivatives. Wouldn't expect a Ford component to work well. If you go to the Workhorse web site, only the Vortec engine is mentioned, nothing about Ford.
