We just bought our new RV a Forest River Sunseeker.  Haven't decided where will be our first trip yet but would like to go somewhere in Florida not far from home to test it out.  We owned a Minnie Winnie about 30 years ago which seems like forever ago so am really starting from scratch.  We want to see as many National Parks as possible in the next few years.  We have a son in California so a trip out west will be in the future.  The Sunseeker is 31.5 feet which scares me a bit in helping drive but my husband tells me it isn't that hard to handle.

Congratulations on the new rig.

Where  in California does your son live?

Santa Barbara  His wife is from there so this is where he ended up which for me is a great place to visit.  He loves hiking and paragliding so has been thinking of places we can go to when we drive out.

Always said I would love to live in Santa Barbara but my line of work prevented that from happening. Really nice place to visit. Ride the Segways while you are there.

Do you know where you will stay while there?

Congrats, I would suggest you plan a long weekend shake down trip, preferably somewhere not too far from a Wal-Mart or other big box store.  You will likely find yourself making trips to Wal-Mart a couple of times per day to buy those provisioning items you forgot to load up into your new coach.  (can opener, disposable gloves, power cord adapter, flashlight, deep woods off, etc.)

Even better, camp right ion your driveway.

Shopinful, first congratulations on your new RV.  It's the start of a whole new fun adventure!  As to driving the Class C, don't worry about it.  You'll adjust much quicker than you think.  I drive 40' Class A and tow a car.  I LOVE driving it as well as our previous RVs, both C and A.  Happy New Year.

X's 2 ...It's the best way to try out everything. Plus if you forget anything you can run into the house as needed
