Headed to Ohio when I return from UK.
OK, I confess I have been periodically checking the forum, but for the past two weeks I have been in England--5 days in London, 5 days in York, 3 days in Scarborough, and right now in the North Yorkshire Moors. I have another four weeks planned, so my rig is stored in California near my son's house for that time.

I picked up a rental car a couple of days ago, and am focusing on driving on the "wrong" side of the road and trying to avoid cars or trucks coming the other way on two-way roads that are only one-and-a-half lanes wide because of vehicles parked half in a lane and half on the sidewalk! It is a challenge, but i have done it in the past--just takes some time to adjust my brain.

Have a great trip Judy!

I tried clicking the link for your blog but it wasn't working for me. Maybe you've not posted anything yet.

Glad it wasn't me being a numpty. 😁

OK, I updated my profile and put my travel blog in my signature. It would only allow one URL, so look down on the right margin of my blog to access the other blogs I started.

I started separate blogs for my 2018 and 2022 trips to the UK because I figured they were not relevant to most of the people on this RVing blog. One issue with my new blog--You may not want to open the window completely because I cannot figure out how to make the background flag wider. So if you open the window to full screen, you will see an ugly pink border. Sorry, but I just do not have the time to figure out how to fix this, so it will have to do for now.

As you can see if you go to the start of this blog, I am planning to spend 6 weeks in the UK. I have already spent 5 days in London, 5 days in York, and 3 days in Scarborough. Right now I am in a hotel on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors. My maternal grandmother's grandparents (My 2nd g-grandparents, were born and married in a tiny village near here--Danby. Ditto for most of their ancestors. I have tracked them all the way to my 10th g-grandfather who went there from Scotland. In the mid-1800s, I would have been related to about half the people in that area. Three years ago, I spent a week in a "cottage" on the farm my 2nd g-grandparents lived on in 1845 when they were married. They had a baby the next year, and then immigrated to Canada with several of their relatives soon after.

Next stops are Yorkshire Dales, Wales, and eventually back to London for 6 more days. Am working hard on getting more comfortable with narrow roads and driving on left. Have done it before, but it takes some adjusting.

Wonderful York Minster. There's also the great York railway museum. I spent a short time studying at York University and got to visit a few places, but that was a very long time ago. Enjoy the remainder of your trip.

The York Minster is incredible! I went there twice just to get a tour. The windows are amazing, and even more amazing is how they managed to remove the glass and store it during WWII. When I was there, I was part of a tour behind the quire area, and the organist started to play. It absolutely filled that enormous place--amazing!!

I did not go to the train museum, but I did a ton of walking around the downtown area.

I’m eating dinner but will go check it and repost.

Also, Jackie, can you clue
Me in on tipping in UK?
Not really common as I think most people are on minimum wage. Not usual in a bar but you can buy bar person a drink.

Probably 10% would be more than enough but if it exceptionally good then 15%.

Some people just round it up to nearest £.

I'm a miserable unless it's very good but sometimes I will leave more.
