Is there a good source for exterior (or interior for that matter) replacement hardware? My pass through storage door lifts up and is held up by this cheesy latch that is just sitting there waiting for someone to grab the door and close it without releasing the latch. Thus mine is broken. I would like to change it to something different. Not sure why they would use that latch on that door and put something much better and robust on the gen compartment door. It's the one that has the straight about 4" long plastic piece that fits in the slot on the door hardware and holds the door up. Simple, sorta fool proof design.

Are you referencing these: Click here. If so, you can get them at any RV dealership parts store, or on-line at any Internet RV parts web site, or in this case, Amazon.

Now, if you want something a bit different, then you'll just have to search hardware stores and RV parts stores to find something that you can customize.

You can add gas struts to the door (I'm assuming the door lifts straight up.) But those struts are a bear to put on.

Yessir. I found them after I posted. I wasn't using the correct search word. They came up after I added "keeper'. Thanks.

That is one of several styles available. I have them on several smaller hatches and one vertical hinge door. They work well, but since you are replacing them anyway, see if you like another style better. I have seen some nice magnetic catches.
