I am trying to figure out the model specs are for my 5th wheel trailer. All of the info I have is from a small hand written note found in a drawer long after the purchase and what little is on the title.
The title info is as follows:
Year :1996
Make: MARQU
MODEL:
Body style: MH
List price : 060685
Mobile Home Manufacturer: KING OF THE ROAD
Unit Number: 08X36

The hand written note Found in a drawer has the following info:
36 MK II Marquis Alta Gold 1996
Then below that quite a bit n different color ink it says,

1996 3 axel 3 slide out 37’ gvw 13,000 lb KING OF THE ROAD Marquis II

I have no book/ manual and would like to find out info like plumbing, electrical, layout/configurations for the 120volt ac and the 12 volt dc and or any model information/specifications. The electrical in this trailer is or has had ( by the looks of it and amount of it) many many hands in it. Example there are at least three separate runs of thermostat wiring behind the wall thermostat and none are hooked up. There is bell wire (phone) in numerous locations in the a/c receptacle box’s along with 14 ga romex
I have tried doing a Vin number search but no good.
You would think there would be a placard or tag of some sort in or on the 5th wheel with any pertinent make model style info but I can’t find any.
If anyone has any suggestions as to where or how I can get further info it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Rick.

In all likelihood, you are wasting your time looking for diagrams, manuals, etc. Very few RV manufacturers ever had any formal wiring diagrams and the most they probably had were shop floor drawings for the workers to use. To this day, many, when asked will claim its propriety information and they will not release it, if they even have it. Airstream will provide them upon request, Winnebago has excellent wiring and plumbing drawings and diagrams online for their motorized line, going back to at least the mid '90's. On somewhat newer RV's and trailers, there is a federally mandated placard on the front LH side of the trailer with VIN, weights, tire information, etc. This seems to have begun about 2000 but you may find earlier models with a placard. The RVIA (Recreational Vehicle Industry Assn) establishes standards for RV's (thats the little oval placard on the outside near the entrance door) and one requirement is for a specification sheet with VIN, weights, appliances, their model numbers, serial numbers and a few other important bits of information. This specification sheet is normally found inside the wardrobe door. Mine was coming loose and I had it laminated and placed it with other important papers in the black pouch that contains appliance manuals, etc.

For manuals for the various appliances, first locate the data tags on each appliance, and then search the internet for the manuals. Here is a list of very good sources for them.

The good news is that KOTR was a top-quality builder (at least by RV standards). Their trailers are built like tanks! But if previous owners have messed around, anything is possible.

Most of the things you ask about are fairly standard in the sense that there are only a couple ways to wire and plumb to get the functional results that are typical among RVs. If you describe what you want to learn about, we can probably help. Maybe even provide some typical diagrams.

Starting in the mid 1980's, most RV manufacturers were including specification or "data" sheets, which detail features, sizes, weight capacities, and more, usually inside of one of the cabinet doors. Sometime before 2000, the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association began to require them, so there probably was one in yours. If it is still there it most likely is on the inside of one of the cabinet doors. Other documentation probably does not exist. To learn more about the 12V electrical system, you might want to read "The 12V Side Of Life" by Mark Nemeth. The King of the Road RV company ceased production in 2007.

Some of the extra wires that you found may have been installed in the factory as part of the standard wiring but were for optional equipment that was not purchased when new. Of course it could also have been added by a previous owner, but in the walls that isn't as probable since threading wire through an RV wall is usually difficult, if not impossible.

We have a 1999 King of the Road 5th wheel. The manual that came with it was missing every other page. Didn't look like the manual had any kind of diagrams of the plumbing or electrical system. Our camper has information in the back of the kitchen cabinet between the sink and stove. I don't remember what all the information is but has freshwater tank size and weight limits. A lot of it is just digging into it and figuring things out. If you questions about repairs or the systems we will do our best to help out.
