Tom, after a year or so of my complaining they finally rerouted my connection, reducing the distance by a factor of 10. Made a big difference in speed and did away with all the problems (so far).
Maybe I need to call the cable company and do the same thing. However, I know they put in all new fiber throughout the neighborhood a couple of years ago.
Not sure where the central office is, but the tech said that the original route was coming to the C O from a different direction. Maybe they went around the bock rather than going directly. At any rate, they solved my problem which was very low speeds and complete drop outs every three of four days.
