So. The wife broke the Door Thingamajig. To my amazement Winnebago still has it in stock. Top my absolute astonishment Winnebago has actually improved on the original design!

WE have that problem with the one under the bedroom slide (front main storage compartment).  Because of the slide, the compartment door cannot lift very high, which requires a longer door holder upper doodad.  And when closing the compartment door, it tends to flop down and nearly get caught in the closing of that compartment door.  Already replaced one.

That's the old, unimproved, one. The original.  I think I paid about twice that for the new and improved one.

An expensive improvement, but it is a better design. I prefer the stainless steel version though...

You're better off going that way at least you know the hole pattern will be the same. Buying anything from another supplier could turn out to be a big headache getting holes to line up.

Excellent point! The improved replacement from Winnebago was a perfect fit. Which was fine since they neglected to include the screws...

Can you elaborate on how it's improved? thanks

Look at the pic. Old version the bar-catch just hung there. Older versions of this type of door holder were all like this. On one YouTube channel someone suggested using a tennis ball (cut a slit in it and twist the 'catch' part into the slit) to prevent it bangi8ng around while underway.

New version the part that screws onto the door has two little tabs that effectively retain the bar when not in use.

Confession: My Winnebago is ridiculously loud while driving there's just no way I would have heard the old one banging...
