We have been in the Page area and told about Lone Rock. To me it looked iffy driving out over the sand in a motorhome, or pulling a trailer, was assurred it is easy. Well sitting here watching Matts Offroad Recovery and they are at Lone Rock pulling one camping rig after another out of there. I would guess not as bad as it looks on TV, but anyone going out there need recovery?

I wouldn't camp down there. We drove and walked on sand and that's when the water was higher, some bits looked tricky.

I was there in year 2017 in midsummer. It was great. Was very hot weather but I had my Y2k RV right next to the water and I could jump in and cool off any time.

I had no trouble going or coming back from there in my Y2K RV. There were countless RVs there then, but I cannot now remember what type they were and if many were towed in.

And I had no trouble riding my motorcycle out and going to Page and back from there.

Has it changed since 2017? But when you once get down there, you have like endless choices which way to get back. Don't need to stay on a road but there are some areas better than others & the same for the sandy roads down there.

I don't recall it being that bad. At least it's not far from the main paved road.

I think there's a lot more sand now. If you stay close to the road it's probably OK but I'm or sure I'd risk it.

We had no problems when we stayed on the packed pathways. Yes, could spin the tires on the MH, but sticking to the obvious routes worked fine for us, our pals and many more back in 2018.
