Jesus Canyon Road, Llano, CA 93544

Pics and videos don't show the land clearing for both sections (Base Camp which is where you will be living & Main Sustainable Living) on Google Maps. I won't be able to share the property plans (Files to Large) for all structure placements and living areas here, but I can send them via email or text.

Rent-free in exchange for land care and hands-on involvement in creating a sustainable living experience.
Cats are OK - purrr
Dogs are OK - wooof
Chickens are OK - Cluck (When coop has landed)
Goats are OK - Bleet (When coop has landed)

40 Acres of High Desert Land w/Joshua Trees which I protect.
Off Grid

An amazing opportunity for someone who loves or dreams of living immersed in nature Off-Grid. Would like to offer a workable relationship with someone who owns their own RV or Camper and knows how to be humble and be comfortable with back-to-basic comforts. Have a road-safe, clean, and working RV or camper in good condition with no leaks as the land is my preserve and I want it to be protected.

I am looking for the right person/persons who would feel comfortable living semi-rural to be Land Caretakers and protectors of the land once sustainable off-grid developments start happening on the property.

Can be short-term or long-term upon discussion of what is needed. I have a 40 ft shipping container placed on the property which is also where I will require you to be close to which is positioned in the NE corner of the property which will be known as Base Camp. And also where visitors will be required to park for any program unless otherwise instructed. You will be the gatekeeper. You must be comfortable with and familiar with weapons on property as a deterrent only.

The property is Walkabout Ranch Nature Preserve, about 1 hr 30 mins northeast of Los Angeles on the South bottom side of the Angeles Crest Mountains. It is a High Desert with an elevation of approximately 4200 ft and the iconic Joshua Tree everywhere, Juniper Trees, and Native Plants. There are rivers and Jackson Lake within 20 minutes of the property. Surrounding towns are 20 mins to 25 mins to Little Rock, Pear Blossom and Phelan. All are convenient and provide all the services needed. Phelan is the closest largest town. There is cell reception and the ability to hotspot for a computer or iPad at the property.

Will have available water for daily use and drinking water will be available once landed. No Power connection, so solar charging is needed or a generator.

If you wish to speak more about this, please call me at 206 769-4334. Know this is a budding future working project, so specifics can be discussed with timelines etc. The land is selectively cleared and leveled for all living areas and several water tanks are waiting to be filled when the right person/s arrives.

The first project is building a floating deck for the 1st Yurt tent to be constructed. A 20x12 ft outdoor kitchen and living pergola. Bathroom and Shower outhouses are still yet to be landed, A 45 x 15 ft Greenhouse and Chicken pen will follow and a 25 ft diameter geodesic dome will be constructed once there are persons living on the property. A 10 x 12 shed, 10 x 10 Shade BBQ/sitting Pergola

I just want a really honest and strong environmentally conscious person or persons who aren't afraid of getting dirty and know their way around being outdoors and being creative. and wanting to create their own little sanctuary and will have the entire property to explore as well as an approximate 1.5 to 2-acre area for themselves.

This is not a job or form of employment, however, once land is up and running and being used for survival programs and camping, you will receive pay at $25 per hour or a commission of 5% for referrals. Also, you have the opportunity to create and run a desired program and full use of land.

There is potential and intention for creating healing retreats, corporate or business retreats, small music festivals, and school field trips for learning sustainability. There will be survival experiences and training run in the upper area of the property. It will also be open to possible tourists to stay in Yurts (glamping). And there are already primitive camping sites created for drive-in tent camping.

There is so much that can be created. Let's not limit our minds. And, let's be peaceful and loving of all creatures great and small, and protect and learn the flora and fauna.

We can continue to talk and discuss always. Let's have an open and honest mind. Have a wonderful adventurous day.

Sincerely
Manu Toigo

I ran it by the DW, asked her if she's be interested in us moving to the desert, living in a yurt with an outhouse, no running water or electricity while clearing land and raising chickens. She said no.
Some women are just hard to live with. My wife said okay and asked if I would be visiting her back here for the holidays.

Sounds like a good plan to obtain free labor. Come live on my land, provide your own living resources, and build my dream in exchange.
Although, pitching it to a group of retired men and women is not the best prospectives.

Didn’t somebody say this was an unpaid gig? How would pay for your essentials with no paycheck

Well there is a commitment of $25 per hour, or 5% of referrals once the land has been developed well enough for visitor use and rental. None of this seemed legit from the get go but ya never know. The ad itself is written a little offhand I would say. Something you would expect to find on Craigslist. The jury is still deliberating.

I found the following via a Google search.

"Walkabout Ranch Nature Preserve, South of the 138 Antelope Highway between Little Rock and Llano features 40 acres of untouched pristine land which is intended for the use of trail exploration surrounded by the majestic Joshua Trees, Junipers and high desert plants and wildlife. Primitive camping sites are being established and will be the future for Sustainable Learning development and off-grid living. Small RV and Aboriginal inspired Yurt Glamping Tents for Eco and environmentally conscious camping will be coming soon. Owner, Manu Toigo is a renowned Survivalist, educator and environmental and wildlife activist aims to create a sustainable habitat that aligns with her beliefs and a reconnection with nature and to inspire others."
