Lots of Questions - Any Answers ?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an RV or an interest in RVing!
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
LOL Paul, excitement is something only you can create, but there's lots of places to go, things to do and sights to see. Hopefully we can get all your questions answered in a timely manner and you should feel free to ask any more that come to mind.

One good reason for keeping in touch with folks here is the various forum rallies that are held in different parts of the U.S. in addition to the informal get-togethers (aka mini rallies) held when two or more families get together for a couple of days. Our members are travelling all over the place, so there's a good chance someone will be close enough for you to hook up. Everyone we've met in person has been very friendly, helpful and lots of fun to be around. I learn something new from every such encounter. Oh yes, as Ron mentioned, there's also the possibility of sharing a WiFi connection with a forum member who has a satellite dish.

1. Recommendations for a US wide cell phone service with no roaming charges - ideally pay as you use rather than contract (due to none US Citizens).

2. As above but for Canada.

Try Cingular at http://www.cingular.com.? ?They advertize prepaid plans that may do for you.? Use an? ZIP code of where you plan to land when asked for one.? ?Verizon has a better reputation and may be easier to handle.? They are at http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/index.jsp

1. Do you hang washing out to dry at a campsite or rely on dryers (in RV or on-site).

Generally you cannot hang washing out.? Maybe drape a damp towel over a chair, table, or awing arm.? ?Most campgrounds have a laundromat available.? ?Handy hint:? The 25 cent piece (the quarter)  is the American coin of universal application -- washing machines, vending machines, parking meters, etc..? When you are setting out in your RV, visit a bank and buy a couple of rolls of quarters.? ?You will find them very handy to have.? We keep a small sack of them in the trailer.

2. During posted "Quiet Times" on campgrounds, does that include sitting outside the RV chatting or just refer to engines/generators/tv etc.

Machinery definitely.? ?Chatting depends.? If like most CGs your patio is 5-10? feet from the next RV, take your chatting inside at quiet hour unless the chattees are the people in that RV.?

3. Do you get Eastenders and Coronation Street on cable over there (Ann-Marie will kill me for asking that one? ).

Tell her that we have a whole raft of soap operas for her to get addicted to over here.? ?Not quite the class of British soaps, but, hey, what is.? ?;D
