My 2004 CCI Controls 7770 LPG detector started going off tonight. Even with propane shut off at the tank and with doors and windows open, BEEP, BEEP, BEEEEEEEEEEEP!  (And its's about 50 degrees and raining ) :-\

From what I've been reading, these things have about a 5 year life expectancy...so I guess 14 years isn't too bad...

Now all I gotta do is find replacement that will fit the opening in the cabinet without too much modification.

Amen, we changed our LPG detector last year. We got 13 years. My wife put the part number in Amazon and it was at my door step in 3 days. Or, take your chances at an authorized winne dealer. Good luck.

The problem is theses sort of sensors go nose blind over time, so the reality is it may have been performing below par for several years now.

I wouldn't be surprised. Shortly after we bought the mh, I was under the cabinet where it's plugged in...it wasn't.

Since the previous owners unplugged the FUBAR'D microwave rather than replacing/repairing it under warranty, I suspect the gas detector started chirping...and they fixed it by unpluggjng it.
