Hi, I have a 2012 Crusader Prime Time 355BHQ 5th wheel. We have not used it in a few months, but the master bedroom slide worked fine last time. We left the slide extended since it was parked at home.

We went to move it today, and the right side of the slide (the side closest to the bathroom) is not moving.

I pulled the back panel under the bed, lifted the bed, a D looked under the seals to check for jams. I could not find any.

When I watch it and retracting from outside, I see the left roller (the one closest to the front) moving, but the right roller does not.

The roller for the right side (the one that is jammed) appears to be on the track.

While I was checking it, my screwdriver connected with the frame and it sparked. So, there must be a short somewhere, but I don't know if that's related.

I cannot find anything about this RV online, so I'm hoping that someone here will have some suggestions! Thanks.

P.S. - trying to retract it while pushing the slide from outside, pulling it from inside, and lifting the bed off the floor makes no difference.

I don't know if this slide has one or two motors. I suspect one, but I could be wrong.

Welcome to the forum, someone should be able to help you out.
What type of slide system is it? Cable, track or hydralic. Maybe a few pics too

What do you mean by "Roller" one type of slide out is Power Gear.. It uses a rack and pinion with two rails.. If by Roller you mean the gear on the bathroom side. You sheared a 1/4" grade 8 bolt (most likely) If that is the case the replacement bolt needs to be long enough that the SMOOTH part of the bolt extends throughthe shaft and washer it up. Use a NYLOCK nut (Nut need not be a grade 8)

Generally they don't slide on "rollers" But Gears are common.

You’re right John as far as generally. My Montana High Country was cable operated for in and out and the slides (I know the bedroom did for sure because I could see them) sat on small nylon (white) rollers about 1” diameter and maybe 6” long. One on each end under the slide.

Thank you all for the replies.

This one does slide on rollers. I couldn't get to the gears without cutting into the space between the floor and the storage bay. I didn't have the time or the tools to do that yesterday, so I'm going to call an RV tech. I'm not comfortable working on it more until the short is fixed.

FWIW, this is our fourth 5th wheel, and it's the only to have rollers as far as I know. It's also the only one I know of that didn't have the gears behind the back panel of the bed storage. That said, we only had to troubleshoot the bedroom slide on one othet RV, so I don't have much experience with them!

That sounds like mine. I could only see the rollers from the outside. I couldn't see exactly how long the track was, but it couldn't have been more than a few inches.

I couldn't find the gears, so now I'm wondering if mine is also retracted with a cable. There is a rod on each side that connects from the top of the slide to the tracks for the rollers. Maybe the cable is in the roof?

The sound of the motor definitely comes from the floor, but I don't see how the gears could be connected down there.

Unfortunately, the short stopped me from working on it anymore.

Oh, one other thing: I didn't take pictures because there was nothing to show. I couldn't get my phone camera angled enough to see the rollers and track, and I didn't have the tools to get to wherever the motor is. I also could not find any branding on the few pieces I could see.
