Hi all, I wanted to share a blog post that I recently put up with some info on maintenance of the rv and some hacks we have done to make our experiences more enjoyable. This includes winterizing, de-winterizing, sanitizing the water tanks, setting up the outdoor kitchen, and some others. I want to share our experiences in hopes of making it easier for others to enjoy their time out in their RV. Happy Adventuring!

Hacks and glamping right on the main page! The two most despised words (well, semi-words) in the English language.

To hack is to destroy or apply shoddy workmanship.

Glamping? A made-up word that has no meaning.

Hack used to mean a cab or cab driver. Hack used to mean clumsily chopping at wood or such. Hack used to mean modifying for your own use (not just computers). Hack (in computer terms) originally meant someone getting into the software, learning how it operated and, often, modifying it too. I knew some really sharp hackers with Bell Labs who were also outstanding professional software developers, and who were very ethical. That was before the media decided that "hacker" meant a bad guy getting in where he didn't belong. It did NOT mean destroy or shoddy. Unfortunately the media changed that, ruining a very useful word.

I agree Larry - hack in the computer world can be bad or good but however exercised is using smarts about the given system and manipulating it in a way that provides benefits.  It can be good benefits to the community/world or bad to benefit the hacker.

I haven't even click the link yet, but wanted to share that....

OK - clicked the link and get the frustration.  May be a GREAT blog.  I don't know this forums policy on this kinda thing but have to think it's not the way to approach....it's doesn't seem malicious and does seem somewhat on topic but....

This forum's policy is that information should be provided here to benefit the members. If one has a useful trick, post it here. Posting a link to a blog elsewhere is a violation of policy, and in this case the link has been removed.

To clarify a bit, links to other sites are OK IF they are in the context of helping a member solve a problem or identifying something potentially helpful to all members.  Perfectly OK to link to another RV blog site in a post that says something like "you can use this procedure to fix your problem".    Links solely to draw our members to another website/blog/forum or to gain advertising revenue are NOT permitted. Sometimes it comes down to divining the intent of the post, a judgment call by the Moderators.

This one appears to be saying "Come visit my site to see helpful stuff", with maybe a subtext of "and view the ads so I get paid".

Blog links can be posted as a signature (as mine is), but putting a blog link in the post itself feels like click bait to me, and I never click on them. Instead I automatically discount the poster. The OP might want to read up on this forum?s rules.
