Hi everyone, absolute RV Noob here. My issue, 2006 Beaver Monterey, recently replaced the plumbing manifold and water pump on rv. Full freshwater tank, pump is on and running, no water flow to any faucet. On city water I get water flow, but I have water streaming from underneath the Aqua Hot, even though the hot water valves on the manifold are closed. Also, when externally priming the water pump, I also get water streaming from underneath the AquaHot. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

Are all the cold water valves on the water manifold in the open positions for each faucet? If you have water leaking under the Aqua Hot you need to check whether it is your fresh water system or your dedicated Aqua Hot water system with the antifreeze in it. Are there any Aqua Hot Alarms?

Better find that leak -- you might need to open up the Aqua Hot compartment (at least I would have to on the 2007 Beaver Patriot I used to have- a headache to get to) -- before much damage occurs.

I so often find that a problem that occurs after I've done something to a rig is (way too often) due to something not done quite right during that process.

Probably others will be along soon with better ideas. We have some pretty sharp folks here...

Thanks, all the cold water valves are open, I should have clarified that it's fresh water leaking from AquaHot not the anti-freeze soluyion.

Thanks for the clarification. I hope not, but it's possible that the Aqua Hot got some damage from a freeze if you didn't have a thorough load of antifreeze in the fresh water section- those tiny little squiggles in minuscule twists and turns where the water gets heated. Is that what damaged your water manifold (I had that happen- once)?

So you'll likely have to explore that AH compartment.

I've only had the rv for 6 months, when I purchased it I was told it had been winterized. I didn't attempt to fill the fresh water tank until a couple of days ago, Ts there a water intake shut off valve on the AquaHot

Gosh, I don't know if there is or not- I never knew about one on my Patriot. Perhaps someone else here has a better insight into that area.

If you shut off the city water connection (or disconnect it), does the leak continue?

Yes it does, but not as bad.

Sounds like freeze damage. People are either too cheap to spend $5 on RV antifreeze or too lazy to inject it thru the system. I learned the hard way a long time ago and always use antifreeze.

it actually is coming out along the whole bottom of surface of AH.
If you can post a picture of it leaking, that might help some.

If it looks similar to this picture, can you remove the side panel to see inside?

I decided not to fix, I'll just bypass it for cold water use and purchase a tankless with propane, Aqua Hot, too high maintenance WHEN they work. Thank you for your time.

So you don't need it as a furnace? I hope it's not too tough re-plumbing things for that tankless.

"Aqua Hot, too high maintenance WHEN they work"

Hmmm... In the 4 years I had my Beaver, the Aqua Hot only needed one minor thing, due to one zone going out- I can't recall the fix, offhand though.

And the Oasis on the Newmar I had for 7 years was about the same.

And both were MUCH more pleasant to use (quieter, more even heat) than the propane furnaces in the Bounder we had, plus we had endless hot water (smoother operation than tankless, according to reports) so long as we were hooked to shore water.

Aqua-Hot actually has a mobile service truck that would visit various RV parks in FL during the winter. That's the limit of my knowledge on that subject.

Alex, was the fresh water pump system working before you swapped everything? Make sure that you don’t have a winterizing valve that’s open on the suction side of the pump to draw In antifreeze.

I am retired now but was a certified Aquahot tech for 30-years
